No separate remote-desktop software to install: it's part of Syndovia, behind the same sign-in and the same roles. Only a game controller needs a driver more, which Syndovia fetches and checks the first time one is used.

We're designing a stick about the size of a TV streaming stick, for the cable between your router and a machine: Ethernet in at one end, out at the other, powered by USB-C from a wall plug or the machine itself. It will wake the machine from one step away, know for certain whether it's off, asleep or on, and if the power goes while you're away, bring your machines back when it returns. Everything Syndovia does will still work without it.

Syndovia can switch your machines off. It asks someone you let in to approve it, every time.
Nothing in it is trusted because of where it sits, and its security checks have tests, tried by taking each check out to see its test fail.
How we handle your data-
No passwords
You sign in with a passkey or an authenticator app. There's no password to guess, reuse or leak.

Every command signed
A command is a signed object, and the machine checks the signature before it acts. Anything unsigned, altered or out of date is refused.

A fixed set of actions
Commands are a closed list of things and nothing more: there's no way to send a machine a script to run. Remote desktop, when it comes, is someone at the keyboard from afar: it takes a fresh approval each time, asks whoever is at the machine first, shows a bar on their screen while it lasts, and is in the record. A machine nobody is using opens without asking.

Nothing destructive, late
A restart or shutdown needs your approval there and then. A machine cut off from Syndovia can still be woken by its neighbour, but never switched off.

Signed updates
Updates to Syndovia's own software on your machines are signed and checked before they install, and reach a few machines before they reach everyone's.

Nothing gathered unseen
Who's signed in, the program in front and idle time are off until an owner or admin turns them on for a machine, and that machine's tray tells whoever is sitting at it.

If a trial or subscription ends, your organisation turns read-only: you can still see everything and take an export. After 30 days it is suspended, its machines disconnected, and 90 days after the end it is deleted, with emails before each step; subscribing at any point brings it all back. Prices are in pounds sterling.
Questions
Which computers does it work with?
PCs and servers running Windows 11, Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows Server 2019 or later, with Intel or AMD processors, today; PCs with ARM64 processors and Linux are on the way, and macOS is planned after it. To wake a machine, Wake-on-LAN has to be on in its settings, and another Syndovia machine on the same network has to be awake to send the wake. The wake check tells you if either is missing, and how to put it right.
Do I need to change anything on my router?
No. Every machine connects out to Syndovia, the way your browser does, so nothing needs opening or forwarding.
What if Syndovia itself is down?
Your machines carry on as normal, and nothing is changed on them while it's away. Schedules they already hold still run. The dashboard, commands and alerts come back when Syndovia does. During early access Syndovia runs on a single server with no standby, so this can happen. status.syndovia.com shows what's working, checked from outside it.
Can my family or my team use it?
Yes. Invite them into your organisation as an owner, admin, operator, viewer or billing member, so each has only what they need. Everyone signs in with their own passkey or authenticator app.
Will I be able to use a machine's desktop from somewhere else?
Yes, it's on the way: remote desktop, from a browser, for any machine you have access to running Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022 and later, with nothing else to install. Until it arrives, Syndovia looks after power, health and upkeep.
Is there an app for my phone?
The dashboard works in your phone's browser today. Apps for Android, then iPhone, are planned, with notifications and your fingerprint or face to approve a restart.
What happens when the trial ends?
Subscribe to carry on. If you don't, your organisation turns read-only for 30 days: you can still see everything and take an export. Then it is suspended: its machines are disconnected, and only subscribing and the export are left. 90 days after the trial ended it is deleted. Its owners, admins and billing people are emailed at the suspension and 30, 7 and 1 days before the deletion, and subscribing at any point brings everything back.
Where is my data kept?
During early access, on a server we run in England. Backups are encrypted before they leave it. The privacy policy says what's kept, where, and for how long.
